Sandy Adam OBE

Sandy Adam OBE is a Scottish property entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder
and chairman of The Springfield Group, the Scottish based AIM listed house builder.

He is the owner of a number of property investment and property development companies in the commercial and residential sectors
in Scotland and Germany.

Starting his working life as a farmer Sandy turned to property development in the early nineties. First running renovations and then new build projects from his spare bedroom. He took on his first employee in 1996. Today Springfield employs around 600 people and the group build around 1,000 private and affordable homes in Scotland every year.

His companies are run for growth. The team behind Springfield Properties PLC have successfully doubled the company in size every five years. In 2011 Sandy led the purchase of Redrow’s Scottish business enabling the company’s expansion into Central Scotland. In 2017 he led the company into the London Stock Exchange AIM market to fund the next stage of growth for Springfield. Since then the Springfield Group has grown and is made up of six reputable housebuilding brands, Springfield Properties, operating across Scotland, Glasgow based Dawn Homes, Walker Group building in the Lothians, Tulloch Homes in Inverness and the Highlands, and Mactaggart & Mickel who operate across the central belt of Scotland.

In 2024, Sandy’s contribution to the construction industry in Scotland was recognised after he was awarded an OBE in the King’s New year honours list.

Sandy’s philanthropic activities support projects which make a sustainable, positive difference to communities or individuals, particularly the young, deprived or disadvantaged. Work includes support to public service and education charities, helping to address homelessness and significant community infrastructure projects such as Moray Sports Centre.
